Bengaluru: Pro-Kannada activists go ahead with crusade against Hindi in metros

The anti-Hindi agitation seems to be growing with each passing day, as the members of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) blackened words written in Hindi on the signboard outside Yeswanthpur metro station. The activists entered the station while sloganeering against the use of Hindi language.
Last night, the members took up the task of blackening the Hindi words written on nearly all metro stations, including Jaynagar, Peenya, Deepanjali Nagar, Mysore Road, and Yashwanthpura metro stations. The placards and banners waved by them resented forcible imposition of Hindi on people living in Bengaluru. The group has defaced various signboards, hoardings etc with Hindi language on it in the past one month.
The protesters claim that the time they had allotted the Bangalore Metro Corporation Limited (BMRCL) to remove Hindi from the boards had expired and that they had now made a decision to act upon it.
