  • Why Miranda Lambert Won't Use Her Platform to Talk Politics

Country singer-songwriter, Miranda Lambert might have split up from Blake Shelton almost two years ago, but the 33-year-old is now opening up about how she dealt with the very public divorce through music. I just knew one thing: "I didn't want a breakup record", she recalled of recording the album. "There's no mystery anymore - take from it what you will", the star said.

Miranda Lambert says she's focused on herself in the wake of her highly-publicized divorce.

"I am a 100 percent believer in not ever using the platform that I've built for anything other than music, because music to me is an escape from your own reality", she said. I just walked a million miles, I couldn't get an Uber, and my beer's hot, ' but I left there feeling uplifted, exhausted and stimulated all at the same time.

When The Weight of These Wings was ready for release, Lambert also went down an alternative path, deciding to not do any TV appearances or interviews to talk about the album.

Speaking about her former marriage in the rare interview, Miranda told the outlet of their breakup, "If you want to hear my side of the story or my opinion of what happened, it's all on there".

'I won't take pain for granted anymore'.

Senate reaches deal on Russian Federation sanctions
He said President Vladimir Putin would decide if and how Moscow would retaliate once the sanctions became law. It must also pass the Senate before it can be sent to the White House for Mr Trump to sign into law or veto.

"[I'm] going out to bars and hanging out, and then having nights with girls writing songs on my porch and going to see shows", the singer shared.

Miranda Lambert recently refused to share details about her divorce from Blake Shelton. "I have to go fall in love with it again, '" she explained. "I put it in a bandana and wear cutoffs and play with my dogs".

In a time when celebrities are becoming increasingly visible and vocal political advocates - from Meryl Streep's anti-Trump speech at the Golden Globes to the numerous star-studded pro-Hillary Clinton public service announcements during the campaign - Lambert says she's not interested in trying to "fit in" with her famous contemporaries.

Despite her sassy and fiery country music and attitude, the singer said that she did struggle to keep things together.

The latest issue of Billboard, featuring Miranda Lambert is out on newstands now.
