  • Nintendo Switch To Get a Video Streaming App

Nintendo did promise that video streaming apps would come in time.

Ever since launch Nintendo has focused on making the Switch a gaming platform first and foremost, holding off on adding multimedia apps such as video and music streaming services until a later point. That bodes well for the future of Netflix, Hulu, and Crunchyroll by showing that companies can put such apps on the eShop for the Switch to begin with, and that Nintendo has opened the door for them to start.

The likes of Netflix, YouTube and BBC iPlayer have been conspicuous by their absence on Switch, and there has been no indication that a release is on the horizon. What differentiates us is the way you play with the Nintendo Switch and what you can play.

Another much-needed feature is launching alongside Splatoon 2 later this month.

Nintendo has not announced any plans to support media streaming apps on the Nintendo Switch.
