  • Metroid Samus Returns Amiibo Functionality Announced

Metroid Samus Return's Japanese website has revealed exactly what we can expect the new Metroid Amiibo to unlock in the game. The highly anticipated game is accompanied with a 2-pack amiibo. You can use the Metroid amiibo as a "metroid marker" that tells you the location of the nearest metroid on the map.

Samus (Smash Bros series) - will refill missiles and unlock some concept art after the game is beaten. Better yet, the Smash Bros Samus and Zero Suit Samus will also be compatible with the game.

Wizarding World of Harry Potter getting new ride at Universal Orlando
However, it was announced that this new attraction will be "one of the most highly-themed coaster experiences" ever created. Universal will be closing Dragon Challenge to make room for the new ride.

The new Samus will provide an art gallery after the campaign is completed, as well as a reserve tank for special abilities. It also unlocks the Fusion difficulty mode. The details have been released on the Japanese Nintendo site. The game's release is not far off, with its launch scheduled for mid-September, and IGN recently got the chance to play a little of the 3DS exclusive. The game is being developed collaboratively by Nintendo and MercurySteam.

Along with the announcement of Metroid: Samus Returns, Nintendo announced two new Metroid-themed amiibo. The second amiibo is of the iconic Metroid itself, clinging to the side of a broken capsule.
