  • China to again have one of the world's fastest bullet trains

China Railway has announced that a new timetable will come into effect on September 21, which will include a new high-speed service between Beijing and Shanghai using the new Fuxing Hao trains.

On July 27, the Fuxing trains were tested for safety and reliability at maximum speed. National rejuvenation is a slogan promoted by Chinese President Xi Jinping. China holds complete intellectual property rights on the trains.

China had briefly tried a maximum speed of 350km/h, but a deadly train crash in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province, in 2011 forced the railway authority to reduce the upper limit.

Railroads are China's main traffic artery to sell its goods overseas, particularly under the country's 'Belt and Road Initiative'.

South Korea joint military exercises provocative
Harris, Hyten, and Greaves will observe the exercises this year amid heightened tensions with North Korea. China again called for the "dual suspension" of North Korea's nuclear weapons program and U.S.

The world's fastest train service will officially start operations next month, knocking an hour off the 1,318 km journey between Beijing and Shanghai.

The line is also said to be one of the most profitable ones in China with an estimated profit of 6.6 billion yuan (about $1 billion) in 2015. Prior to the aforementioned accident, China's bullet trains traveled at 350 km/h (217 mph), but were then reduced to 250-300 km/h (155-186 mph). To date, over $360 billion has been spent on the railway's creation. For comparison, the still-in-development Hyperloop One recently reached speeds of 308 km/h (192 mph), though the plan is to hit 402 km/h (250 mph) while still in testing.

In addition, comprehensive and scientific assessments have shown the rail line meets the requirements for bullet trains run at that high speed, and given the ample preparations made, rail authorities and experts have guaranteed that Fuxing trains are capable of the high speed, according to the company. China operates the world's longest railway network, accounting for almost 60 percent of the global total.
