An Army soldier died while another officer was critically injured in ceasefire violation in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch sector on Saturday evening. "Indian Army retaliated strongly and effectively", he said, adding that in the exchange of fire, Naib Subedar Jagram Singh Tomar was grievously injured and succumbed to his injuries. He is survived by his wife Omavati Devi, a son and a daughter. He was shifted to 425 Army Hospital in Poonch.

A lady was killed when Pakistan damaged truce in Jammu and Kashmir's Mendhar part at 5:30 am on Saturday.

On August 8, the Pakistani troops resorted to firing and shelling in the Krishnagati sector of Poonch district, killing Sepoy Pawan Singh Sugra (21).
