The data comes amid tepid inflation that has remained below the Federal Reserve's 2 percent target, despite low unemployment. The Dow and S&P 500 inched higher on the day but they both posted their largest weekly percentage drops since late March.

Casualties were also confirmed by rescue and hospital sources. "Several vehicle and auto rickshaws have been burnt or damaged after the blast as they caught fire due to the intensity of the blast", the official said.

Balochistan Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti said the nature of the blast couldn't be ascertained, adding that security forces might be the target.

According to eyewitness, cited by reports, one of the vehicles exploded at Pishun Stop, which led to fire erupting in other vehicles passed side-by-side. A large contingent of security forces have also reached the spot. The Balochistan Assembly, Quetta Law College, a private hospital and many offices are located in the area where the explosion occurred. "Among the victims are security personnel and civilians", he said.
