Before his sudden departure, Scaramucci managed to drive White House spokesman Sean Spicer out of his job and helped get Reince Priebus sacked as Trump's chief of staff.

"That whole thing is nonsensical".

Violence broke out Saturday at a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. The rally led to clashes between the demonstrators and counter-protesters, culminating in a auto ramming attack, which left one person dead and over 30 injured.

The power struggle between McMaster's camp and the White House's more nationalist faction, led by chief strategist Steve Bannon, was highlighted in a memo obtained by Foreign Policy. "This is an umbrella organization or movement called the alt-right and the alt-right is a terrorist movement". He said that he thinks "the president knows what he is going to do with Steve Bannon", adding that Trump "has an idea of who the leakers are".

Stephanopoulos played portions of the conversation Scaramucci had with Lizza, as Scaramucci listened.

Stocks open lower; Macy's and Blue Apron drop
The latest sell-off was the most severe yet, amounting to the biggest single-day drop for the stock market in almost three months. Major U.S. indices had posted record highs in recent weeks. "Markets are looking for any reason at all for a reset.

Asked about the call on This Week Sunday morning, Scaramucci said "the words were mischaracterized in the original article", before noting that Lizza is "not misquoting me, but he is mischaracterizing me".

But he acknowledged that he "made an unforced error", and said that he was a target from the start. Scaramucci had served less than two weeks in Trump's administration.

While President Donald Trump's national security adviser Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster and the National Security Council are trying to provide guidance about North Korea, they are also facing attacks from outside and from within the White House.

He said that some of the turbulence of Trump's first six months is because "the president is not a representative of political establishment class, and for whatever reason people want to eject him".

"I went in there with my heart and soul", he said.
