Spieth updates from PGA Championship

Kevin Kisner survived a calamitous finish at the PGA Championship thanks to a good bounce off a bridge that allowed him to escape with a bogey and take a one-shot lead into the final round at Quail Hollow.

Kisner, not a long hitter but unerringly accurate for the most part until he double-bogeyed the 16th and bogeyed the last, posted a seven-under 206 total, one stroke ahead fellow American Stroud (71) and Japan's Matsuyama (73).

Phil the Thrill offered no thrills whatsoever to those in Charlotte with rounds of 79 and 74 at the PGA Championship, missing the cut by a mile and looking every bit his age of 47 - if not older.

About Spieth's quest for a career grand slam. he's 3-over par, 11 shots behind.

"I guess (from) beating up people on Tuesday", said Kisner, alluding to a certain prowess on the most popular day for money games among Tour players.

Golf has always been about minimizing the mistakes more than rounds of 59 or 63 (his third-round tally at the U.S. Open), particularly in the throes of a white-knuckle major championship.

Jason Day started looking like the player who was No. 1 for so much of a year ago. He chipped down to a foot and tapped it in for his par.

Carrick expects Premier League title challenge from Manchester United
Most of all, he hopes that he can repeat what he has done at his previous clubs and win the league in his second season. Meanwhile, Mourinho praised Lukaku after the match against Real Madrid, and he is likely to start upfront.

Lahiri said, "I would be putting things mildly if I said I was only disappointed".

Matsuyama, whose six top-10 finishes in 20 prior major starts include a runner-up effort at this year's US Open, could become the first Japanese man to win a major title and only the second Asian man to claim a major crown after South Korea's Yang Yong-Eun at the 2009 PGA. "I'm sure there will be nerves in there, but that's what we play for and that's what we practice for". One of his dropped shots was on the par-5 seventh, and as he mentioned earlier, "One also one needs to score off the par-fives because you are not going to get too many chances".

"I've played mini-tours, learned how to win there", Kisner said.

"It's a little different golf course than what we've played in the past", Mickelson said. It's just these last two days I haven't scored very well. Day took a big risk and paid a big price, going from behind a tree to flower bushes, into the rough and short of the green. I have to hit my tee ball where I'm trying to look, and if I don't, I have to find a way to get the ball in the hole the fastest. He birdied the 14th and on 15th he had an eagle putt, which horse-shoed out, but he did get a birdie and went into double figures at 10-under.

Then, he almost did it again at the end of Quail Hollow's fabled "Green Mile". I love this game. 14 and 17 and his only bogey of the day on the 12th hole.

Things started to go haywire right after he made the turn. What result to expect now from Quail Hollow?
