  • Suarez and Messi have formed a formidable partnership at Barca

According to reports from The Sunday People (printed edition; press reader), Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez is mulling over a loan move for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.

Wilshere reacted to Smith's late tackle in the centre of the pitch and pushed the City man aggressively in the chest, sending him falling to the ground.

Arsenal Under-23s ran out 4-3 winners at the Emirates. The pair shoved each other and both were sent off by Sam Allison, the referee.

Wilshere has yet to play for the first team this season, having spent the last one on loan at Bournemouth, but is now fit following his recovery from a fracture to the lower left leg suffered during Bournemouth's 4-0 defeat at Spurs in April.

Wilshere had produced an encouraging performance until that point, including a excellent assist for Arsenal's third goal, scored by Eddie Nketiah.

The England global then became involved in a shoving match with Tyreke Wilson after the City defender ran up to confront him and referee Samuel Allison dismissed both players.

Wilshere has less than a year remaining on his contract at Arsenal and there is a possibility that he could leave the Gunners permanently before the transfer window closes at the end of this month, with Milan now contemplating whether to sign him, as reported by Corriere dello Sport. The current Arsenal midfield options have looked unconvincing in the opening matches of the new campaign and if he is given the opportunity to play on a regular basis, Wilshere has all the quality to become a starter for the side.
