Actress Heather Locklear has been rushed to hospital after being involved in a vehicle crash.

After sustaining minor non-threatening injuries, Locklear was transported to the Los Robles Hospital.

It is unknown at this time what caused the incident, however, the police are saying that there were no drugs or alcohol involved in the crash.

And Tom Marshall, a spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol, revealed the actress was considered to be "under the influence of prescription medication" when the incident occurred.

Locklear, 55, has had sobriety issues in the past, checking into rehab in 2008 after being charged with driving under the influence of prescription drugs.

Detailing the crash, the site says Locklear accidentally drove her Porsche into a ditch at around 6 P.M. PST in Thousand Oaks. She stopped by the Farrah Fawcett Foundation's Tex-Mex Fiesta at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills on Saturday evening, September 9. The Melrose Place alum was not cited.

"I am feeling great and am taking steps to enrich and better my life", she said, according to E! "Currently I am working on tying up some loose ends regarding certain issues so I can hit 2017 full steam ahead".
