Jon Jones : Stripped again from his title

  • Daniel Cormier torn over retaining UFC title

His manager and good friend Malki Kawa believe Jones failed the drug test due to a tainted supplement.

"If it's a four-year thing, I think it could be just that kind of devastation (that stops Jon from coming back), and which like I said, it's not fair, you know?"

UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier called on fans to "lay off" Jon Jones after Jones' positive test for a performance-enhancing drug leading up to his victory in their July title fight, which led to Cormier's reinstatement as champion. Let him and his team figure out what's going on and what happened.

"He has been a model champion, a model husband, a model father, a teammate, a leader, and I aspire to be a lot more like that man", Jones said moments after his win.

Does Jon Jones fit in with the greatest villains in UFC history? Jones posted to Twitter on Thursday after his "B" sample from the test confirmed initial results and he was stripped of the UFC light heavyweight title.

The irony is that these "protections" might, depending on how you have your browser configured, mean you see more autoplaying ads. Google's autoplay blocking features will start showing up in the beta, canary, and dev builds this month.

Jones, 30, was previously banned for a year after failing a doping test in the run-up to a title fight against Cormier in July, 2016.

Cormier lost the belt to Jones in a third-round stoppage at UFC 214 in Anaheim, California.

Coach Mike Winklejohn has been at the side of Jones for the majority of his professional MMA career, but he even doubts whether Jones would fight again after serving such a long potential suspension.

Whatever the ultimate verdict, Cormier wants his followers to respect Jones.
