President Trump Reneges Paris Agreement Withdrawal

Trump announced in June that he would not renegotiate the Paris agreement - effectively pulling the US out of it, much to the chagrin of many in the USA and worldwide - during a Montreal meeting led by leaders from Canada, China and the European Union.
The climate agreement was formed in a global effort to cut back on climate change emissions. These include carbon dioxide generated from burning of fossil fuels that scientists blame for a warming planet, sea level rise, droughts and more frequent violent storms.
The Agence France-Presse (AFP), an worldwide news agency headquartered in Paris, didn't go quite as far, however, reporting that "a United States envoy has signaled that President Donald Trump may be ready to soften his stance on the Paris climate pact".
The White House has swiftly denied reports that President Donald Trump is rethinking ripping up American commitments pertaining to the Paris climate accord.
The Paris Agreement is not legally binding, and there is no enforcement mechanism.
The announcement was reportedly made by senior White House adviser Everett Eissenstat during a meeting of more than 30 worldwide ministers Saturday in Montreal.
White House aides said the administration would withdraw from the Paris accord using the process laid out in the agreement. At that time the State Department reiterated the position that it would be open to re-entering the deal if favorable terms were found.
More details could emerge next week on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, AFP reported.
