Later Thursday, Trump signed a joint resolution from Congress that denounced white supremacy - and said, "as Americans, we condemn the recent violence in Charlottesville and oppose hatred, bigotry, and racism in all forms".

Trump issued a statement saying he was pleased to sign it.

After LeVell stood up for Trump and said that the president was just trying to condemn "hate everywhere", he then said that "we're not going to sit up here and twist words around and jump in the president's head", leading Boykin to declare that "it's not about twisting words".

He added, "No matter the color of our skin or our ethnic heritage, we all live under the same laws, we all salute the same great flag, and we are all made by the same almighty God".

Yesterday, talking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump apparently thought it'd be a good idea to bring all of this up again.

The president said after the meeting that he was correct to condemn violence from both sides.

Facebook Ads Could Be Programmed to Reach 'Jew Haters' and 'NaziParty' Workers
The journalists tested the legitimacy of the ad categories by paying $30 to target "promoted posts" to those specific groups. ProPublica explains that it placed three ads and selected the audience categories from Facebook's ad-buying platform.

Trump said he explained his views on antifa to Sen.

Additionally, the resolution urges the Attorney General (who would be none other than Jeff Sessions) to fully investigate all acts of domestic terrorism and violence by hate groups and prevent further attacks.

While urging Trump to "speak out against the hate groups that espouse racism, extremism, xenophobia, anti-Semitism, and White supremacy", the resolution also honored an anti-racism protester, who was killed after a neo-Nazi sympathizer intentionally drove a auto into a crowd on August 12 in downtown Charlottesville, a historic college town.

On Wednesday, Trump met in the White House with Senator Tim Scott of SC, the only black Republican in the Senate. The ensuing violence culminated in the death of anti-fascist demonstrator Heather Heyer, who was killed by a vehicle driven into the crowd. White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said that Scott had not criticized Trump's response to Charlottesville but rather spoke about racial issues "in depth".

"Now because of what's happened since then, with Antifa, you look at, you know, really what's happened since Charlottesville-a lot of people are saying-in fact a lot of people have actually written, 'gee Trump might have a point'".

Antifa is an anti-fascist protest movement that sometimes resorts to violent measures to fight neo-Nazis and white supremacists, which has attracted a lot of attention in the wake of the Charlottesville violence.
