  • It was hoped that Jolie could be embedded with forces close to Kony left

A plan unveiled by Luis Moreno Ocampo, chief prosecutor of the ICC, in an e-mail, who is among the 40,000 documents that have been leaked on Mediapart. On his side, Angelina Jolie confirms her motivation: " Brad argues. "Let's discuss logistics. Much love Xxx", Jolie reportedly told him. European media outlets have detailed how the Hollywood A-lister planned to work with the International Criminal Court to bring Joseph Kony to justice.

A PROSECUTOR wanted Angelina Jolie to take part in a honeytrap to snare one of Africa's most wanted warlords, according to leaked documents. So she reportedly offered herself as a honeypot. "Forget other celebrities, she is the one", he wrote. "She is ready. Probably Brad (Pitt) will go also".

Other leaked ICC documents show that Jolie was not the only celebrity Moreno Ocampo attempted to persuade to join the worldwide justice organization's efforts against genocide and human rights violations.

According to the newspaper, Mr Moreno Ocampo was hopeful that the couple would travel with USA special forces to Central African Republic and that would draw Kony out of an armoured compound, allowing for his capture. Moreno Ocampo ended his term at the head of the ICC in 2012, so the plot was hatched before then.
