Bluehole is in Talks with Sony Regarding PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds on PS4

Its founder Chang Byung-gyu owns 20 percent of the company, almost making him a billionaire - at least on paper.

The thing is, right now, it's only on PC.

Mere hours after revealing that Bluehole is in talks with all the major consoles to bring PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds to as many people as possible, Bloomberg has info from "people familiar with the matter" that says Microsoft is trying to extend the exclusivity deal it has with the game.

Well, Microsoft isn't having any of that, it seems.

The State Department said that it would need assurances that the attacks would not continue before allowing the Cuban diplomats back.

However, Bloomberg is now reporting that Microsoft and Bluehole are talking about extending this exclusivity agreement. While they might not be good for us, these are the moves that Microsoft needs to make while Sony locks up deals left and right. Whatever that means (given that the title is already out on Steam and Windows) it will at least have Xbox One exclusivity for six months on Xbox's Game Preview programme.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has been hit with a storm of negative reviews on Steam, as Chinese players protest forced in-game advertisements that have begun to appear in the game's menu. Microsoft has refused to comment on the issue. "Our development team has been continuously upgrading the service architecture to address the increasing concurrent player numbers and tackle any emerging issues".

Bluehole Inc. originally agreed to release PUBG as a timed exclusive on the Xbox One but yesterday our sister site, PlayStation Trophies, reported that the studio aimed to bring the game to PS4 soon after its Xbox One release. "Despite our daily efforts, there were some unexpected issues during peak times and we were unable to resolve some of the issues as fast as we would have wanted to".

"PUBG has arguably risen to be Xbox's most important exclusive for the end of 2017", said Piers Harding-Rolls, head of games research at IHS Markit.
