Liverpool's Dejan Lovren has accused Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku of deliberately standing on him during Saturday's 0-0 draw at Anfield.

"I made a tackle there - I just felt he was over me he could have moved away", Lovren said ahead of Liverpool's Champions League clash against Maribor, as quoted by The Guardian.

"So for me words without any meaning and FA committee is there to analyze and make decisions, so no comment".

"To be honest, my point of view is that he did on goal", he told a press conference ahead of the Reds' clash with Maribor in the Champions League.

"Now I am in a team who want to win against big teams so I think the situation will change".

Iran tension and doubts over Iraq supplies stabilise oil prices

'I know what people are thinking. "It is what it is".

Asked whether he was disappointed that the FA has decided United's £75m summer signing has no case to answer, Lovren said: "That happened on the pitch and it is over". "When I was at Everton we had a different mindset going into games. That is football, part of the game", he concluded. For that reason boss Jurgen Klopp says he won't be rotating his squad. "It is the last place where I would do things like this".

Lukaku will be hoping to feature for Manchester United when the Red Devils return to Champions League action on Wednesday night with a trip to Portugal to take on Benfica. It will be a special atmosphere. It is what it is now, we need to move on.

Lukaku's best chance of the game fell to him towards the end of the first half, when his low shot was well saved by Simon Mignolet in the Liverpool goal.

Lovren added: "I am fit now". "I had issues with my back and with my groin a couple of weeks ago. But now it's over and I'm feeling good and feeling fit".
