  • Hands down the most Australian thing I have ever seen: The video was uploaded to social media and watched almost 20,000 times in 24 hours

The video shows her stopping and bending down to look at something, before she appears to wrestle with the shark and picking it up in her arms.

A viral video showed a woman in Sydney, who is a real estate agent, wrestling a shark out of an ocean swimming pool in New South Wales, Australia, reports said Tuesday.

Desperately wanting a safe swim, Melissa Hatheier was filmed wrestling with the unexpected guest at the Cronulla Beach rock pool.

"He was pretty distressed and bumping into things, so I just followed him around for a bit", she said.

The couple said they hope the adoption will be finalized next month. The Fishers had been Tannah's foster parents for two years.

Bronze whalers have been known to kill humans, and can be aggressive when in the presence of food, but Ms Hatheier said she was not scared by the juvenile shark. A shark in the oak park pool! "I saw it and it was just a little Port Jackson so I just thought I should chuck him out". So I said, 'I think I can just grab him'.

Sydney resident Melissa Hatheier was swimming in a bay near Melbourne, when she stumbled upon a shark.

I herded the shark into the shallows and then I just sort of jumped on him and put my knees on his fins. "I just dived on him". After getting close to it, Hatheier said the shark became stressed and started hitting its head against the rocks. "All in a day's work for a local real estate agent!" says another.

Hundreds commented on the video, with many praising Hatheier's efforts in the scary situation.
