Giants suspend Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie; Did he have 'altercation' with Ben McAdoo?

  • Giants cornerback Dominique Rodgers Cromartie is suspended

He came in today, chose to leave.

Giants cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie was missing from practice on Wednesday, but it wasn't because of an injury.

The cornerback, according to McAdoo, had conversations Wednesday and Tuesday with the team. "We had a conversation that was personal upstairs", McAdoo told reporters.

The Giants are limited in how long they can suspend Rodgers-Cromartie.

Some of Trump's allies, including former White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon, have called on him to resign. The Tennessee senator added that the majority of Senate Republicans privately had reservations about the president.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on Twitter that DRC got into a heated argument with Giants head coach Ben McAdoo on Sunday after getting pulled from the game, a 27-22 loss to the San Diego Chargers that dropped winless NY to 0-5. "We will suspend him", McAdoo said Wednesday.

The veteran cornerback did tell Anderson that he plans to return to the team Thursday but he will likely continue to practice under the suspension label and be ruled out against the Broncos. With the addition of free agent Janoris Jenkins and first-round pick Eli Apple, however, his role has diminished slightly in recent years. During Sunday's loss to the Chargers, the source said, Rodgers-Cromartie slammed his helmet down on the sideline, left the team while the game was in progress and went to the locker room with what teammates and coaches understood was the intent to leave the stadium.

The Giants suffered an ugly loss on Sunday to the Chargers, falling to 0-5 and losing three receivers for the season in one game, including superstar wideout Odell Beckham. If the Giants cut him, he would carry $2 million in dead cap space for 2018, a savings of $6.5 million.
