'Jordan says superteams will create garbage teams'

In an interview with Cigar Aficionado - apparently the GOAT smokes six cigars a day - Jordan said he thinks concentrating the league's talent on a couple of teams has hurt the National Basketball Association from a competitive standpoint.
"You're going to have one or two teams that are going to be great, and another 28 teams that are going to be garbage", Jordan said, per Sports Illustrated.
He also talked about his friend Tiger Woods, the 14-time Major victor struggling to return to golf after multiple back operations, and said he himself might not have "survived in this Twitter time". There is not really even a close second - perhaps the Cleveland Cavaliers?
The Cavaliers, San Antonio Spurs, Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets and Boston Celtics all may have something to say about that, but Jordan was likely just using hyperbole to make his point. Despite his comments, Jordan said winning a championship in Charlotte is on his bucket list.
As the owner of the Charlotte Hornets, it's understandable that the Hall of Famer has concerns about the level of competition in the league as he has the best interests of his franchise at heart. Tiger played at his peak somewhere towards the end of my career. He promised not to smoke more than one a day, presumably lighting up his other daily five from slightly less premium brands.
According to Jordan, he smoked his first cigar in 1991 when Chicago Bulls owner Jerry Reinsdorf gave him one as a gift following their first NBA Championship.
Jordan, who sparked the Chicago Bulls to six National Basketball Association titles in the 1990s, addressed the topic in an interview with Cigar Aficionado magazine unveiled on Thursday on its website.
"Everybody says it was a failed opportunity to play baseball", he said. People don't see that. For me to ask an individual to focus on the game the way I played would, in some ways, be unfair.
The whole issue - featuring more Jordan comments sure to get attention - will hit newsstands on October 31.
