  • Las Vegas shooter booked rooms near Lollapalooza

Stephen Paddock, the man who killed 59 people at a country music concert in Las Vegas on Sunday, reportedly also targeted the Lollapalooza site two months ago.

An image posted online by the website shows a guest listed as Paddock/Stephen booking a room at The Blackstone Hotel for August 1 and a second room on August 3 - the day the Lollapalooza started. He booked a second room August 3.

Emmy Carragher, public relation officer for Blackstone Hotel, told Xinhua that there was no guest under that name who stayed at their hotel in August during the Lollapalooza music festival.

Paddock also looked at rooms overlooking another concert a week before his rampage in Las Vegas.

He had also conducted internet searches for the Fenway Park baseball stadium and the Boston Center for the Arts, a small performance venue, the Boston Globe newspaper reported.

Authorities now believe that following the Las Vegas shooting massacre, Paddock had planned to escape.

The manager agreed, noting on Paddock's reservation that he should be placed in a room overlooking the park.

The details came to light as investigators struggled to figure out why the 64-year-old high-stakes gambler opened fire on a crowd of 22,000 Sunday night from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel casino.

The lineup for the festival included the artists Lorde, Chance the Rapper, and Arcade Fire. "They're going to be around the runners", Riccio said.

Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo told reporters that Paddock had used Airbnb to book a room at The Ogden.

Paddock sent Danley on a trip to her native Philippines before the attack, and she was unaware of his plans and devastated when she learned of the carnage while overseas, she said in a statement.

"This individual and this attack didn't leave the sort of immediately accessible thumbprints that you find on some mass casualty attacks", McCabe said.

"The investigation is being led by the folks in Las Vegas, and we're in constant conversation with the fusion center here in MA, which is in constant contact with them", Baker said.

In her first public statement, Paddock's long-time girlfriend said that she had no idea about the mass shooting.
