Lawler, Dos Anjos headline UFC Winnipeg

14 October, 2017, 00:41 | Author: Joan Malone

Former UFC champions Robbie Lawler and Rafael dos Anjos will square off against one another this December, the promotion announced on Thursday.

Lawler lost his title to Woodley by way of a first round KO in July of previous year, bringing an end to a five-fight winning streak in which he'd shown the best form of his entire career.

This past July, Lawler (28-11) returned for the first time since dropping the UFC welterweight title to Tyron Woodley in 2016 with a decision win over Donald Cerrone.

Lawler, who is now ranked as the number one contender for the title, has a 28-11 record with one no contest. He last defended his title in a unanimous decision win over Demian Maia at UFC 214 in July.

Arby's releases venison and elk sandwiches to kick off hunting season
But this time, venison will be available at all 3,300 Arby's outlets nationwide, a report by USA Today said. According to Taylor, Arby's choice of venison is a grass-fed and free-range New Zealand import.

Meanwhile, after losing his 155lb belt to Eddie Alvarez previous year and then suffering another defeat against Tony Ferguson, Dos Anjos has looked to embark on a new challenge at welterweight, and so far it's worked out well for him.

As for dos Anjos, ever since he moved to 170 pounds, he's been gunning for the gold and now with one more win it looks like he'll get his chance. He took to his multiple social media accounts to make his plea for a possible Interim Welterweight title. The victor of the December matchup could be in line for a title shot against Woodley, who is now rehabbing a shoulder injury.

To say UFC is backloading its fight schedule is an understatement.
