  • Man sought after 3 adults, 1 child killed in Ohio

The three adult victims found dead Wednesday. That person was airlifted to a nearby hospital after suffering stab wounds. Lawrence County Sheriff Jeff Lawless said a press conference Thursday afternoon that 23-year-old Aaron Lawson was last seen after a police chase, where he crashed his auto into a ditch early Thursday morning and then ran into the woods. "There's things that happened in every room of that residence, so they were taking each room one room at a time and working their way through, doing a methodical search of the rooms", Lawless said. The murder weapon has been recovered.

Lawson is related to everyone in the home in some way and spent a lot there "visiting and socializing", Lawless said. One of the victims was Devin Holston, 8, who was thought to be missing after police found the first three bodies in the home Wednesday evening. The sheriff says the search for a boy missing from the home ended with authorities later finding him dead there, his body apparently hidden.

The bodies of the three adults were found in a house trailer in an unincorporated area of Lawrence County at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Lawrence County Sheriff Jeffery Lawless said Thursday. West Virginia law enforcement agencies issued a warning to be on the lookout for Lawson around 11 a.m. Thursday, indicating he was wearing a purple shirt and should not be approached.

If you have seen or know the whereabouts of Devin or Aaron you urged to contact the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office by calling 740-532-3525 or dial 911.

After a massive manhunt was launched, deputies spotted Lawson in a blue Chevrolet truck half past midnight on Thursday 15 miles from the murder scene. Deputies chased Lawson before he crashed his vehicle into a ditch and ran into the woods, the sheriff said.

So far, Lawson has only been referred to as a "person-of-interest" in the case by the authorities. None of the dead or injured adults has been identified.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is assisting Lawrence County in the investigation.

We are actively searching for 23 year old Aaron Lawson of 15868 SR 93 Pedro Ohio 45659 as a person of interest in this case.

Schools in Rock Hill, Dawson-Bryant, and Symmes Valley areas were closed and afterschool activities and games canceled as authorities from several towns and villages employed helicopters, drones and bloodhounds to attempt and track down the suspected killer.

The initial report about the slayings - violence against multiple people found at properties of related residents - recalled details from a still-unsolved homicide case that rattled rural southern OH a year ago.

Authorities have said that the October 2017 killings are not connected to the April 2016 slaying of members of the Rhoden family.
