It could be even bigger than Snapchat's Dancing Hot Dog.

Okay, so Snap accidentally leaked its own announcement.

Koons is the most obvious artist for a tech company to choose to premier a worldwide campaign (blue-chip, crowd-pleasing, and, most importantly, ideal for selfies), but Snapchat at least seems to want to eventually include others who actually need this kind of publicity.

As background, yesterday Snapchat posted a mysterious countdown timer on a domain named art.snapchat.com that was reminiscent of the countdown timers announcing the next location of a Spectacle-selling Snapbot. Just as Koons is considered a contemporary art icon, Snapchat's association with him may elevate the platform's viability in the art world. Well, luckily for us, Snapchat, you played yourself.

Koons teamed with Snapchat to create location-based Lenses inspired by some of his most recognizable sculptures, like the iconic Balloon Dog. Now, Snap looks to extend its domination of the AR space, launching digital art installations that'll offer users a chance to Pokémon Go to the museum. At 3pm a forward-facing world lens appeared with the small icon being a yellow Jeff Koons balloon sculpture.

But if you want to check out this latest piece of public art, you'll need to do it on your smartphone through Snapchat, the picture messaging app beloved of teenagers everywhere. If nearby, the Koons Lenses will appear in the first slot in the carousel.

The official reveal of the new Snapchat feature is due later today.

Still, eMarketer expects Snap's ad revenue to surpass Twitter's by next year, doubling to $1.4 billion.

Spiegel, asked by interviewer Walter Isaacson about whether Snap's IPO was a good decision, responded that it was the right thing to do for the company to achieve "liquidity" and move from a venture-backed company to a publicly held one.

This updated in real time and indicated which direction to walk and how far away I was as I walked closer.

At $14.64 apiece, Snap shares are down 46% from their all-time high after their stock market debut in March, and down 13% from the initial listing price of $17. More worldwide locations will be added, the company said.
