  • Boy lost at Utah corn maze left overnight in state custody

"He was crying and upset and obviously scared", Kendall Schmidt, co-owner of the corn maze, told The Washington Post in a phone interview Wednesday.

The boy was visiting the maze in West Jordan on Monday, Oct. 9, with a large family group, but was left behind. He also couldn't tell them much except his age, the name of his brother and his cat.

An officer called the Utah Division of Child and Family Services, who took the child in for the night. The next morning, a woman called the police at about 7:45 a.m. and said she couldn't find her little boy.

They waited about 30 minutes for the family to come looking for him.

Police said the mother later arrived at the police station with about 10 children.

US Army chief: 'No risk-free options' on North Korea
More than 1.1 million people serve in North Korea's armed forces, representing approximately 5 percent of its total population. Army's annual meeting in Washington, Mattis warned that he could not say what the future holds for the DPRK.

'Sounds like this is a dwelling with multiple families and a lot of children living in the same home, ' he said.

Police have issued no citations, noting the incident had been turned over the DFS for investigation and it is unclear rather or not they have released the child back into parental custody.

"The fact that it took so long for them to realize the child was missing - was it purely an accident?"

Monson said the Division of Child and Family Services can not release the status of the child because of privacy policies.
