  • Twitter blocks Blackburn campaign from promoting video due to statement about ‘baby body parts

Twitter has blocked Republican Rep. Marsha Blackburn's (Tenn.) Senate campaign announcement ad, ruling that a pro-life statement was "inflammatory".

Twitter reportedly said the rest of Blackburn's video would be allowed to be promoted, as long as the flagged statement was taken out.

Blackburn, who is running for retiring Sen. Liberals applaud Twitter for shutting down lies and hate speech while Deplorables stoke their persecution complexes to a white heat, further fueling their mistrust of "elites" from Silicon Valley to the CNN newsroom.

Known for her commitment to the pro-life movement, Congresswoman Blackburn reveals in the banned video, "I'm 100% pro-life. Thank God." This references the falsehood-an allegation has been debunked numerous times-that Planned Parenthood has been profiting off the remains of aborted fetuses. The House Oversight Committee's 2015 investigation into Planned Parenthood found the organization innocent, and 13 states' investigations have also found no proof that Planned Parenthood was selling fetal tissue. Videos that were released by pro-life activist David Daleiden clearly revealed that Planned Parenthood engages in the illegal sale of body parts harvested from murdered babies.

In late June, Twitter pulled a similar stunt with pro-life advocacy group Live Action, telling the group that, in order to advertise on the site, it must delete any and all tweets that Twitter's management team had deemed "offensive" and "inflammatory".

Man on Sydney high-rise balcony above body
Luke Bladen Williams Hamilton said he tried to establish there was "no sign of life", but soon realised the woman was dead. At 7.20pm, the man was "pounced on" and "grabbed" by members of the NSW Police Rescue Squad and taken into custody.

In an email obtained by Politico, Twitter announced to Targeted Victory, the consulting firm running the Blackburn campaign's social media, that while the ad would be allowed to remain on the website, the campaign would be blocked from paying to promote it.

"I know the left calls me a wingnut or a knuckle-dragging conservative", Blackburn said in the video.

According to the AP, a Twitter representative told Blackburn's vendors that the candidate's remark had been "deemed an inflammatory statement that is likely to evoke a strong negative reaction". Rep. Blackburn (R-TN) joined the Todd Starnes Show today to discuss her senatorial race, what she thinks about Steve Bannon saying she should replace Corker, and how she feels about Twitter removing her ad.

"America needs a conservative revolution", she says in the video.

That's the line that caused Twitter to censor the video.
