Aston Martin has revealed first (computer-generated) images of its Valkyrie AMR Pro - a more focused, track-biased version of its Valkyrie hypercar with more power and less weight.

Adrian Newey, the chief technical officer at Red Bull F1 and the brains behind the Valkyrie, says the AMR Pro "offers a level of track performance significantly beyond any previous two seat closed roof vehicle".

As writes the European press, the representatives of Aston Martin, has posted the first images of Aston Martin AMR Pro Valkyrie. Weight savings, uprated brakes and LMP1-spec racing tyres will also bring significant performance gains that will contribute to creating a auto capable of cornering forces in excess of 3.3G and a top speed close to 250mph.

Details of the extra power and torque from the hypercar's naturally-aspirated 6.5-litre Cosworth V12 have not been revealed, but have been achieved by engine recalibration and a modification of the road car's emissions control systems.

Of course, it might be churlish to point this out, but the company is announcing power increases and weight savings based on a vehicle that no-one has officially seen yet, that hasn't been revealed in final production form.

A Quiet Place teaser trailer is eerily silent
A Quiet Place opens in the United States on 6 April 2018, and in the United Kingdom on 4 May 2018. Michael Bay will produce along with his partners Andrew Form and Brad Fuller of Platinum Dunes.

For the AMR Pro, Aston will remove the road car's heater and infotainment screens, replace all the glass with polycarbonate, and install carbon-fiber wishbones, lighter suspension uprights, lighter bodywork, and fixed racing seats.

Every surface on the auto has been honed for aerodynamics, but the AMR Pro Valkyrie also gets a larger front and rear wing for more downforce. Lighter polycarbonate windows and carbon fiber are used all around the vehicle.

It rides on smaller 18-inch wheels than the road-car version, but this enables it to use the same spec Michelin racing tires as LMP1 racers from the World Endurance Championship.

The auto has been built for track days rather than a specific racing category, although owners will not be prevented from racing them. It also features Formula 1-inspired race-spec carbon-ceramic brakes. This will include simulator time, on-track instruction and physical fitness programs.

CEO Andy Palmer had previously mentioned the Valkyrie would see a 150-unit run capped off by a 25-unit track vehicle series, but in mid-November the automaker revealed how those track cars would be honed by the Red Bull racing team. When the vehicle debuts in 2020, all owners will be invited to special track events set up just for the model. Nevertheless, the auto already sounds like a beast. Deliveries are expected in 2020.
