Former national security adviser Mike Flynn may soon be cooperating or negotiating with prosecutors, after Flynn's legal team reportedly told President Donald Trump's counsel they could no longer discuss special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation, the New York Times reported Thursday.
Even though the notification doesn't affirm Flynn's cooperation by itself, indications are that President Trump's team took the news as a sign that the former national security adviser is talking with Mueller. However, attorneys are required to stop passing information to each other when doing so could pose a conflict of interest. Information sharing may also be abandoned, for example, when a lawyer is attempting to negotiate with prosecutors, but those negotiations aren't always successful.
