  • Carrie Underwood Injured in Fall Outside of Home

Her injury comes just days after she hosted the CMA Awards with Brad Paisley for a tenth consecutive year.

Country music star Carrie Underwood thanked fans Sunday as she recovered at her home in Nashville from a fall that prevented her from performing at a benefit that night.

The Before He Cheats hitmaker's representative reveals she was hospitalised on Friday (10Nov17) and treated for "multiple injuries", including cuts and bruises, after the accident.

In a statement to People magazine a representative said that: "Her recovery will take some time and she appreciates all prayers and well wishes", Underwood's rep said. "I'll be alright... might just take some time", she wrote. Fans of Underwood will remember that her bassist, Mark Childer, set her up with his hockey playing friend, Mike Fisher.

Her husband, former Nashville Predators Captain Mike Fisher, traveled back to Nashville overnight to be with her.

A statement from the country star's spokesperson says she will miss a benefit concert for victims of the Las Vegas shooting and hurricanes- which she was scheduled to attend on Sunday.

Carrie Underwood is on the mend after breaking her wrist and suffering other injuries from a "hard fall" outside her house. "So this year's show is dedicated to all of those we've lost and to all of those who are still healing".
