And while there's going to be that fringe element that gains great satisfaction from a macabre tribute to the convicted murderer, it became clear that folks were mistaking Charles Manson for the singer Marilyn Manson.

For what it's worth, Marilyn Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, explained in his autobiography, "The Long Hard Road Out of Hell", that his stage name is a play on Charles Manson. "I was within his grasp just one year before he committed brutal murder in 1969", Cranston explained. He was 12 years old when they crossed paths. "Luck was with me when a cousin and I went horseback riding at the Span Ranch, and saw the little man with insane eyes whom the other hippies called Charlie".

While he spent parts of his adolescent and early adulthood in jail, his role as the leader of the cult known as the Manson family is what sparked his notoriety.

Charles Manson, the psychopathic guru who masterminded a savage killing spree in the United States that shocked the world, has died aged 83, California prison officials said late on Sunday. He was found guilty of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder in the deaths of seven of the nine Manson Family victims. In response, he immediately canceled the movie, attempting to find out who did it. "It's happened before.' We thought, well, Charlie must be someone important".

"I saw his face on the news, and my jaw dropped", Cranston said.

And we thought for a second, oh my god, what if?
