The Bucks knocked off the Los Angeles Lakers 98-90 on Saturday night to earn their second straight win.
The Lakers rookie finished with an impressive tally of 19 points, 12 rebounds, 13 assists, 3 steals and 4 blocks, while shooting an improved field goal percentage.
"It's perhaps fitting that Ball collected his first triple-double in his first game against Bucks coach Jason Kidd, who is third all-time in the department with 107, behind only Oscar Robertson and Magic Johnson". He surpassed the previous record set by LeBron James, who was 20 years, 20 days old when he recorded a triple-double in January 2005 for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
"I don't care", Ball said.
"We took a loss, so it don't really mean nothing". Just like me, when I got here, there was pressure. "We are handling it out here, so that is a good sign. they are out there, so they are taking care of him".
While Ball made National Basketball Association history, the true star of Saturday's game was Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, who led all scorers with 33 points on 12-for-19 shooting while also grabbing 15 rebounds and dishing out three assists.
None came on the offensive end.
NOTES: Lakers G Lonzo Ball said he spoke to his father, LaVar Ball, who told the Lakers' rookie to focus on his own work and not worry about his brother, LiAngelo, who was arrested for shoplifting along with two UCLA teammates in China.
Making things more hard for the Lakers were 23 turnovers, which Milwaukee converted for 17 points. Khris Middleton added 13 points while Eric Bledsoe contributed 11 in his home debut.
