Netflix Officially Fires Kevin Spacey!

  • Interesting House Of Cards producers are considering killing off Kevin Spacey's character on the show according to a new report from Variety

Rapp opened the floodgates by saying that Spacey made a "sexual advance" when he was 14-years-old, 31 years ago at his NY apartment. One such person included actor and filmmaker Tony Montana, who told Radar Online that Spacey once groped him, grabbing his "whole package" while at a Los Angeles bar; Spacey then followed him into a restroom. When they were just minutes away from the set - and while the auto was still moving - the production assistant alleged that Spacey put his hands down the production assistant's trousers.

In a statement, the streaming service said: "Netflix will not be involved with any further production of House of Cards that includes Kevin Spacey".

Following allegations of sexual harassment against Kevin Spacey Netflix has chose to cut ties with the "House of Cards" lead actor. In the week following, others have come forward with similar allegations.

Netflix already announced Season 6 of House of Cards will be its last, but has also since suspended production on that season indefinitely. We will continue to work with MRC [Media Rights Capital] during this hiatus time to evaluate our path forward as it relates to the show. "He was a man in a very powerful position on the show and I was someone very low on the totem pole and on the food chain there".

Production of the political drama has been halted as writers scramble to rewrite the Netflix drama's sixth and final season - perhaps with former President Underwood not in the script, sources told The Hollywood Reporter.

Spacey's longtime publicist, Staci Wolfe, and talent agency, C.A.A., both dropped him Thursday, according to the Los Angeles Times.

I'm glad that Netflix has put its foot down and insisted that Spacey have no involvement with the upcoming season, while still leaving room for the show to continue without him.

"Spacey responded to Rapp's initial allegations, saying that he didn't remember the encounter and offered an apology".

Netflix and MRC - the show's production company - said they had been aware of only one incident, in 2012, when a crew member lodged a complaint against Spacey but said that immediate action had been taken.
