Now you can really have Breakfast at Tiffany's

  • Luxury jeweler Tiffany & Co. is opening its first-ever restaurant The Blue Box Café at its flagship Fifth Avenue store in New York City

A half-century after Audrey Hepburn starred in "Breakfast at Tiffany's", the landmark NY jewellery store is making the title of the 1961 romantic comedy film a reality by opening a cafe where shoppers can enjoy a morning meal. But if she had only waited 56 years, she could've gone inside and ordered a cappuccino.

And look; we have all swooned over Holly Golightly's take-away coffee and croissant outside the Tiffany & Co. windows, but it sounds like the Blue Box Café will take our love affair with NY and Tiffany's up another notch. By the time the doors opened, at 10 a.m., there was a line down the block.

We've officially added it to our bucket lists.

China's Biggest Shopping Event: What Is Singles Day?
As of this writing, Jiang Xiao Bai is offering 28 limited sets of a "lifetime supply" of baijiu for ¥11,111 ($1,672). The first year did only $7.5 million in sales, but just five years later, that record was broken in 12 hours.

For birthdays or special occasions, there's also a small cake-an edible Tiffany box with glossy blue icing and the iconic white bow-you can request for $36. It's "immersion in Tiffany-not only the feeling of being inside a Blue Box-but surrounded by Tiffany hospitality", Moore says.

But unlike character Holly Golightly, shoppers can now dine within the shop. It includes options like truffled eggs, smoked salmon bagel, and, for a throughly modern twist, avocado toast.

Breakfast at Tiffany's is based on the Truman Capote novella about a country girl who moves to NY and joins high society. If you're feeling flush, a two-course lunch is $39 and the tea service, which comes with a selection of finger sandwiches, costs $49. No reservations. Blue Box Cafe, 727 Fifth Ave.; 212-605-4270.
