Sprint to throw in free Hulu for unlimited-data plan subscribers

The partnership is a clear effort by Sprint to better compete with competitor T-Mobile, which bundles in subscriptions to Netflix with its unlimited data plans, as well as AT&T, which now includes HBO for its unlimited data customers. Customers can manually sign-up for the offer at sprint.com/hulu from November 17 to December 8. Among the four national wireless carriers, Verizon held out the longest on offering unlimited plans.

If a Hulu subscription is not enough for you, Sprint says that it will offer subscribers an upgrade to Hulu's live TV service, though the carrier gave no further details.

Sprint's unlimited plan is now priced at $60 per month (single line access) and provides Full HD streaming and "unlimited data" until you consume 23GB during a billing cycle. Sprint is marking this occasion by creating eight new types of popcorn named after shows that can be streamed on Hulu.

Once signed up, the accounts are treated as if they were a traditional Hulu subscriber. This Is Us fans can expect their poppable snack to be extra salty, like the tears you shed watching week after week, while Buffy fans should get ready for popcorn with a serious garlic bite, to ward off those vampires, of course.

Sprint's Unlimited plans normally cost $60 monthly for one line, an additional $40 for line 2, and an additional $30 per month for lines 3-5.

Sprint Hulu DealThe Sprint Hulu deal is quite similar to one announced between T-Mobile and Netflix in September. "What we have to do is have great partnerships where we can strategically put it inside our bundle". The service also offers a variety of original content like the now popular The Handmaid's Tale. "Customers overwhelmingly are saying this is a relevant factor in their decision of who they pick for their carrier as well as staying with their existing carrier".
