Tim Sherwood has been at it again, flagrantly accepting self-administered plaudits for providing the sturdy framework on which Mauricio Pochettino has built his Tottenham team, launching the careers of several stars therein and *that* sodding win rate.

"A criticism one would make of Arsenal is that they've been left behind a bit by this modern, high-pressing, high-energy game and they haven't got it in their team".

But a 0-2 loss in the North London derby on Saturday has crushed the expectations of a million Spurs fans.

Sherwood came in and managed to turn their fortunes around, to a certain extent, as they finished sixth in the Premier League. For more than 20 years, it is because you are special.

I admire what he (Pochettino) has done.

Evidence of his man-management skills were on show when he took Kyle Walker out of the picture last season amidst transfer speculation, and the way he handled Danny Rose following his explosively honest interview in the summer.

Pochettino said comparisons with Wenger were "massive praise for me" but, asked if his Tottenham teams would always have an English core, he said: "Yes". We believe in English talent. But we lose. I'm not blaming the referee.

Rose stayed back to train on Saturday, Pochettino saying he was not ready for the game - despite starting England's worldwide with Brazil this week. "It's an exciting challenge for us and exciting philosophy for us to build".

Sherwood took over at Tottenham following the ill-fated reign of ex-Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas, who was sacked midway through the 2014/15 season.

And Roberts, who said that he can not understand why top managers do not go for more, stated that he would not have sold Pochetttino for even £100m. Now, [we have] eight 16-year-olds training with the first team. "They will have their great points and they will have their low points".

"We have the talent, we need time to be focused and help them achieve the level we want".

"I don't care where they are, because after three and a half years we have achieved a lot".
