  • Apple rolls out iOS 11.2: Here's all that is new

ANOTHER issue popped up to challenge Apple's software engineers when users on Twitter and Reddit posted about their iPhones crashing on December 2. After issuing a final developer beta of iOS 11.2 to developers last night, Apple made a decision to take the highly unusual step of issuing iOS 11.2 to all iPhone owners to fix the crashing issues today. The update was released to iOS users this morning, and includes Apple Pay Cash which allows individuals to send and receive money through Messages or by asking the Siri assistant. Now the service is only available for users in the United States, though it is yet to be activated. If you have an iPhone 8 or an iPhone X as well as a wireless charger that supports 7.5W or more, your phone will now charge more quickly as Apple first limited wireless charging to 5W.

Try to update your device to iOS 11.2. However, those features were removed in beta 5 of iOS 11.2 as the HomePod device is postponed until 2018.

The iOS bug is the second big software blunder from Apple this week.

Aviance Capital Management LLC Cuts Position in QUALCOMM Incorporated (QCOM)
The firm owned 78,349 shares of the wireless technology company's stock after selling 128,766 shares during the quarter. Jacobi Capital Management LLC increased its position in QUALCOMM by 10.8% during the first quarter. (NASDAQ:VIA).

iOS 11.2 also fixes another glaring glitch that caused error-inducing lag in the built-in Calculator app (see "iOS 11 Calculator Lags Cause Errors", 9 November 2017). And I know what you're thinking: it isn't known if the default Reminders app on iOS devices was also to blame. "Please DM us the iOS version that's now installed on your iPhone and we'll go from there".

Fixes an issue that could cause Mail to appear to be checking for new messages even when a download is complete. You can go to the Settings Apps and then General option and then Software update option to update your device with this new iOS 11.2 update.

This has been a bad week for Apple's Quality Assurance team. On November 28, a root bug was revealed allowing anyone to access a mac running the latest High Sierra operating system.
