  • Sydney Loofe 24 was reported missing in mid-November

In a tragic ending to the search for Sydney Loofe, her parents announced Monday night that the Neligh native's body has been recovered.

A Nebraska State Patrol helicopter circled above while investigators marked locations a half-mile apart or more.

A Nebraska woman has been found dead three weeks after disappearing following a Tinder date with another woman.

The 24-year-old Lincoln lady was accounted for missing on November 16, one day after she clearly went out on the town with a lady in close-by Wilber she met through the internet dating application, the Lincoln Journal Star reports. Investigators said they suspect foul play in her death, but didn't reveal any further information at a press briefing. An autopsy has been ordered. Boswell says she and her roommate - 51-year-old Aubrey Trail - were being unfairly targeted by authorities searching for the missing 24-year-old. Neither had been charged with a crime related to Loofe's disappearance or death.

It was the last time friends would hear from Loofe, who went on a date with a woman she'd met on Tinder but didn't turn up for work the next day, police say, per the Washington Post.

Police say Ms Loofe was last seen after apparently going on a date with Ms Boswell in Wilber, about 40 miles (64km) south of Lincoln. They are combing a vast area.

Ms Boswell and Mr Trail posted videos on social media last week proclaiming their innocence.

In a second video-posted Friday before the pair turned themselves into authorities following an arrest warrant accusing Trail of being a felon in possession of a firearm-Trail denied his and Boswell's involvement in Loofe's disappearance.

"Not saying I'm a nice guy".

"I do what I do, be it, if I'm a thief, I'm a thief".

Trail said in the video that he offered his support and prayers to the Loofe family.

In an earlier video, Boswell claimed she and Loofe drove around Lincoln then smoked marijuana at her apartment in Wilber before she dropped Loofe off at a friend's house.

Trail said he objected to the reporting on his criminal background, which includes a conviction for grand theft in 2000.

"The investigative efforts have not been able to confirm those particular details", he said.

"We're going to be busy for a little while working on it and like I said just to make sure we have everything we need to thoroughly process this", Pullen said. Federal Bureau of Investigation officials ask that anyone with information related to the case call the dedicated tipline 402-493-8688 and select Option 1.

Loofe loved animals and raised her cat, Nimzy, since she was a kitten, her mother said.

Antelope County Sheriff's Office said that they had confirmed with the family that a body had been found. Cops are vetting her story. George Loofe told the Neligh News and Leader that the family was notified of the discovery of remains believed to be his daughter shortly after 5 p.m. Monday. "Please continue to pray for Sydney and our entire family".
