A studio insider then told the Tracking Board that Singer's firing under the pay-or-play provision of his contract "was in the best interest of the film" due to the director's "pattern of unexpected unavailability" throughout the production. Actor Tom Hollander, who is slated to play the role of the band's manager Jim Beach, was also rumored to have left the film due to Singer's on-set behavior, though was persuaded to return.

Singer also recently deleted his Twitter account, and The Hollywood Reporter reports that the director has been "routinely" late and even AWOL during the shoot and that Twentieth Century Fox has considered replacing him.

Twentieth Century Fox confirmed that Bryan Singer has been fired from the Queen biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody.

Singer's clash with Malek, who portrays Freddie Mercury in the film, was reportedly caused by the director's absence and led to "on-set chaos".

Trump reportedly says government shutdown might be good for him
He has said to several people, the report added, that he would blame Democrats for a government shutdown. Republicans, on the other hand, want the new plan to include more funding for border enforcement.

Singer never returned to the set after a planned Thanksgiving break, though. Things apparently reached a boiling point when Rami Malek and Singer got into a nonviolent confrontation that ended with the director throwing something.

THR further reports that the film still has two weeks worth of principal photography and the project will announce a replacement director shortly. The movie is scheduled to be released on Christmas Day of 2018, and Fox is still aiming for that date. Rami Malek of Mr. Robot fame was cast as Freddie Mercury in the film and from one production still certainly passes for a dead ringer of the singer.
