  • Kojima Reveals A Long, Strange Trailer for Death Stranding

Another trailer for Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding was shown during The Game Awards 2017 and, just like the first trailer featuring The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus and the second trailer from last year's Game Awards featuring Guillermo del Toro and Mads Mikkelsen, it's a real mindf'er.

Clocking in at eight minutes, it's a freaky trailer that doesn't really show off anything concrete or comprehensible. Shame he couldn't bring some gameplay footage or a release date with him, but these things take if your game is going to be as imaginative as this. In fact, I'm pretty sure I know less about what Death Stranding is now than I did before watching the trailer, but then again that's pretty much par for the course with Kojima's games, isn't it? Despite these details, there is still a lack of update on how the development of "Death Stranding" is doing since the first trailer was released in 2016. The trailer closes with Norman Reedus' character stating, "Once there was an explosion, a bang that gave rise to life as we know it". And I'm excited to tell you that first title from this new studio is a collaboration with PlayStation.

The new information indicates that the communication is less significant than CNN initially reported. Soon after, CBS also issued a correction and said the date was actually September 14.

You can't expect to make much sense of anything Hideo Kojima does in the video game space, at least not without spending dozens of hours sticking scrawled notes on chalkboards and tying string between screenshots of the many iterations of Snake from Metal Gear Solid.
