What has he admitted to?
The Special Counsel's probe has found illegal behavior stretching into the senior most levels of the White House.
With that, President Donald Trump's first national security adviser becomes a convicted felon for misleading the Federal Bureau of Investigation about contacts he had with the ambassador from Russian Federation - a country that was accused by the nation's intelligence agencies of meddling in the presidential election before those contacts.
How will he co-operate with the investigation?
Flynn's decision to admit to these lies and cooperate with the Special Counsel occurred, if press reports are to be believed, with the backdrop of broad legal exposure by Flynn, in addition to his son.
That should scare White House officials as they hunker down for an investigation that's inching ever closer to the Oval Office - and still looks like it's nowhere near completion.
Flynn appeared in court after Mueller said in a court document filed on Thursday that the ex-national security adviser "did willfully and knowingly make materially false, fictitious and fraudulent statements" to the Federal Bureau of Investigation when questioned in January 2017 in Washington, about his contacts with Russian officials. The Israeli government then reached out to the Trump transition and asked for help in pressing for a veto of the resolution, a senior Israeli official told CNN at the time.
What were the conversations with the Russians about?
Michael Flynn was charged with "willfully and knowingly" making "false, fictitious and fraudulent statements". Administration officials said Flynn had not discussed sanctions that had been imposed on Russian Federation in part over election meddling.
Murder victim's dad detonates grenades in courtroom killing himself and defendant
At least nine people were wounded in the incident, including two convoy officers, a court officer, a prosecutor and civilians. The father was killed instantly, and one of the defendants, a man born in 1977, later died of his injuries in the hospital.
Prosecutors also cite an earlier December meeting, in which Flynn asked Kislyak to delay or defeat a UN Security Council resolution.
The Obama administration abstained, while the rest of the 15-nation council, including Russian Federation, voted unanimously against Israel.
"As to the United Nations, things will be different after January 20th", Trump said, referencing his upcoming inauguration.
The White House said late Friday morning that "nothing about the guilty plea or the charge implicates anyone other than Mr. Flynn".
"The false statements involved mirror the false statements to White House officials which resulted in his resignation in February of this year", Cobb said in a statement released to reporters.
Trump has since tweeted about a separate matter. The next day, Trump met privately with then-FBI Director James B. Comey.
Michael Flynn is ready to spill the beans on Trump, according to Ross.
Elsewhere on social media, people are having their say on the news.
If the government has agreed not to prosecute Flynn on the much more serious charges his alleged connections with Russian Federation could have triggered, then it's probably getting something very significant in return.
