Get your kicks on Route 66! In this video, watch for the North American premiere of the all-new 2018 Nissan Kicks compact utility vehicle (CUV).

The new Nissan Kicks replaces the Juke in one of the fastest-growing segments in the market, becoming along the way the sixth member of the company's growing SUV family.

Kicks became the sixth model line of crossover and Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) that Nissan marketed in the U.S., after Rogue Sport, Rogue, Murano, Pathfinder and Fleet. The 2018 Kicks also features unique wheel arches, boomerang headlights and taillights, and a "floating" roof for a "wrap-around visor" look. The vehicle will be offered in seven exterior colors with five two-tone combinations. An orange roof with a gray body, or a white roof with a blue body can also be had. The "Gliding Wing" dashboard design is dominated by a centrally mounted 7.0-inch full colour display housing a comprehensive infotainment system with available Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Additional extras that can be specified on the 2018 Kicks include an 8-speaker Bose sound system, 360-degree Around-View Monitor system and heated front seats as such.

The Kicks will start at "well under $19,000" says Nissan.

The 2018 Kicks is powered by a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine that is rated at 125 horsepower and 115 lb-ft of torque.

Originally previewed as a concept in at the 2014 São Paulo auto show, the front-drive-only Kicks made its debut in production form past year. Nevertheless, it is being described as a great companion to navigate the city with considering its good ground clearance, high eye point, electric power steering and small turning radius. The base Kicks S model receives 16-inch steel wheels, while higher-trim SV and SR models earn 17-inch alloy wheels. We would enjoy seeing a Midnight Edition variant for this little cruiser - those special trim packages have proven popular with Nissan customers.
