Addressing the media in Ahmedabad, Shah said Rahul was visiting temples in Gujarat, while on the other hand Congress leader Kapil Sibbal wanted to delay the Ram Janmbhoomi case.

Reacting to the development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the Sunni Waqf Board, saying, "Everyone wants a time-bound solution, except the Congress and its leaders". You are not going to build that temple. If you think that you are, then you are mistaken... I do not know on whose behalf the counsel for the Muslims appearing in the apex court, Kapil Sibal, had stated this.

Modi said that he would congratulate Sunni Waqf Board for saying that Sibals argument in court was wrong and it wants speedy resolution of the issue. "Congress MP Kapil Sibal argued in SC yesterday to postpone the hearing on Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya till 2019".

"Our PM comments without knowing things sometimes".

Speaking on the issue of "triple talaq", Modi said "When the matter was in the Supreme Court, the Government had to put their affidavit". What does he mean, when he says don't hear the matter till 2019 as it will have an impact outside?

The Supreme Court on Tuesday deferred the final hearing in the long-pending Ayodhya-Ram Janambhoomi case till February 8, 2018 after a specially constituted bench sat a day before the 25th anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition, reports said. It said it had not issued any instruction to Sibal to seek shifting of hearing till after the general elections.

In the order, Sibal's name featured as a lawyer for the UP Sunni Waqf Board.

As the campaign for the first phase of Gujarat Assembly elections comes to an end on Wednesday, PM Modi is expected to address three consecutive rallies today in Dhandhuka, Dahod and Netrang. Are these thoughts of delaying the hearing for elections that of the Waqf Board? "Now, the Congress links Ram mandir with the elections. You want to keep the issue unresolved for political gain and losses in the elections?"

"I want to question the Congress Party and explain if it wants the Ram Janmbhoomi matter to be heard at the earliest or not", he asked.
