  • BJP in Karnataka files complaint against CM Siddaramaiah

Congress president, Rahul Gandhi, who met CM Siddaramaiah and other leaders from Karnataka on Saturday in Delhi, was reportedly keen that they learn from the mistakes of the Gujarat campaign to win against the BJP in the coming assembly poll.

The leaders who accompanied the chief minister during this visit were senior leader, Mallikarjun Kharge, former union minister, Veerappa Moily, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee working president, S R Patil, and others.

Meeting the media persons, the only one Congress Chief Minister of Southern India denied that there was any anti-incumbency factor for the party and put a fearless face that he would be able to retain power in the state.

Responding to a stung BJP's social media campaign,"I am RSS, I am BJP, arrest us", chief minister Siddaramaiah shot back on Friday, "The police does not have to arrest them as the people will do it themselves".

The Congress president's first three-day tour of the southern state will begin on February 10.

Paul Ryan calls Trump's 'sh*thole' comment 'very unfortunate' and 'unhelpful'
Asked about how Trump's comments could impact a congressional deal on immigration reform, Ryan said: "We just have to get it done".

The Chief Minister refused to apologize for his alleged attack on the BJP calling them terrorists. Yogi Adityanath raised the same issue. Alleging that Rao has said BJP was like a terrorist organisation, it said this was "baseless, malicious, derogatory, defamatory and false". That is the only issue they have. Hindu dharma means humane Hindu and not hatred.

Siddaramaiah said the party's poll preparedness was reviewed in detail at the meeting and its strategy chalked out. The protesters, which included Lok Sabha MP Shobha Karandlaje, condemned Siddaramaiah's remarks and asked him to apologise.

Venugopal said the leaders gave an assurance that they would all work united for the success of the party in the Assembly elections.

Siddaramaiah had called the BJP and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) "Hindutva extremists", while Shah had termed his government in Karnataka "anti-Hindu". "He told the leaders that the party should treat all communities equally, recalling that remarks like neech had an adverse impact on the Congress in Gujarat", sources said.
