USA customers need a better choice, and as a leader in technology and innovation, Huawei is prepared to fill this need.

If you'll recall, Huawei has reportedly been in talks for quite some time to debut its latest flagship, the Mate 10 Pro, on a couple of major USA carriers.

The Mate 10 Pro, launched in Europe in October with a price tag of 799 euros ($955), comes with AI-enhanced chips that Huawei, the world's third largest smartphone vendor, says process data faster than those used by Apple and Samsung. This follows closely on news that AT&T would cancel its own launch of the Mate 10 Pro for similar reasons.

The original rumors about an AT&T sales channel to USA consumers in 2018 began with comments in December from a Huawei executive who promised additional details at the CES 2018 Consumer Electronics Show, which opened in Las Vegas on January 8. The company has repeatedly confirmed on their USA social media accounts that the new Mate smartphone would be unveiled on January 9.

She said: "Many have since sought pay equality through internal negotiation but managers still deny there is a problem". But in the meantime, we'll have to rely on strong women like Carrie Gracie to keep the spotlight on the issue.

The company has been trying to penetrate the USA market for years now and its success hinges on selling its phones through carriers.

According to The Information, Huawei's smartphone deal with AT&T was killed by "political pressure". It was heavily rumored that AT&T would be selling Huawei's flagship smartphone in the US, but it looks like the carrier backed out of the potential deal.

Huawei had planned several announcements for the CES event this week, including speculation that it was ready to reveal a sales tie-in with AT&T, according to the earlier reports.

So when a report emerged late past year that Huawei had partnered with AT&T to sell the Mate 10, its newest flagship, it would have been a body blow to Samsung.

Huawei has long raised concerns from Congress such as when, in 2012, USA investigators alleged that their telecommunications equipment could be used for spying by Chinese authorities. The letter, which was seen by The Information, reportedly "cited an intelligence committee report on Huawei's alleged ties to the Communist Party as well as China's intelligence and security services".
