Army Chief General Bipin Rawat blamed the "corrupted education system" of Jammu and Kashmir for spreading an anti-India propaganda in its schools.

"Ceasefire violations have increased because Pakistan posts supporting terrorists are being destroyed", he said.

Asked about increase in ceasefire violations along the Line of Control, the Army Chief said India has started targeting Pakistan posts which support terrorists in infiltrating on Indian side. If we will have to really confront the Pakistanis, and a task is given to us and the country gives us a task, we are not going to say that we can not cross the border because they have nuclear weapons.

The Army chief said that the forces need to update weapons and technology from time to time.

Gen Rawat said South Kashmir was focus of the Army's counter-terror operations after killing of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militant Burhan Wani in 2016.

Israel said cautiously backing expected USA aid cut to Palestinian refugee agency
The New York Times said that it has obtained audio recordings of Egyptian intelligence officer, Capt. Ashraf Al Kholi, urging TV hosts to promote a "quiet acceptance" of Trump's Jerusalem decision.

Rawat, who was talking to reporters, said that minor construction continues to take place in Doklam but past year the face-off happened because it saw personnel from the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) moving in large amount of equipment.

"US has exerted pressure on Pakistan, but there are compulsions on USA also to maintain relation with Pakistan", Gen Rawat said adding that both Pakistan and the United States understand this. Chinese troops were very well equipped. "Too long we have focused on the western border, now it is time to build infrastructure on the Northern Border", Rawat said. "We will not allow our territory to be intruded". Hiranyagarbha - the Terrabit Transport Cross Connect, a trusted network router & Army Air Defence Deployment Simulator System (A2D2S2) were also unveiled.

Commenting on recent developments in US-Pakistan relations, Rawat emphasized the US can not expect from India to do its job in the region. On the increasing border transgressions and contact between Indian and Chinese soldiers, he said the numbers have gone up as India had deployed more troops in more forward positions along the border.

The stand-off was resolved after Prime Minister Narendra Modi intervened and took up the issue with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Hamburg during the G-20 summit a year ago.

"The other issue is madrasas, what is being incorrectly informed to them (students) is from madrassas and masjids", he said. We have to look at what we require to fight the future wars.
