Several Kashmiri cricketers were reportedly detained previous year in Ganderbal district after a video clip surfaced in social media showing them wearing the Pakistani team's jersey with the neighbouring country's national anthem playing in the background.

The detention move came after a video went viral showing the cricket players' conduct in Arin village before the start of the match. In another video that was shared by a Facebook page called "Inside The Kashmir", on April 3, 2017, a similar situation was witnessed wherein two teams dressed in green and white jerseys are seen standing faced at each other. In the video, two teams of cricketers are seen lined up against each other, apparently in Bandipora district.

The stadium where the incident took place is a local ground situated among hillocks. The teams involved were MCC, Gondipora and Dardpora Cricket Club. Commenting on the matter, senior superintendent of police Bandipora, Sheikh Zulfikar Azad said that both the teams have been booked.

"There was a local cricket tournament going on at Arin and it was the final match of the tournament", a source told the Indian Express.

Harvey Weinstein Attacked In Restaurant After Reportedly Refusing Photo

Station House Officer Bandipora Gazanafar Ahmad while confirming the arrests said, "We have booked the teams under Section 13 of the Unlawful Activities Act with FIR number 4/2018".

In this viral video, the players of both teams appeared to be taking part in national anthem.

Police in India-held Kashmir on Sunday arrested four cricketers for playing the Pakistani national anthem before the start of a cricket match in Bandipora district, Times of India reported.
