  • Mad Catz Returns from the Dead

Alex Verry, a former PR director for Mad Catz, told Eurogamer that this is "not a case of a nameless corporation buying the assets and running the brand down".

The third party peripheral giant used up all nine lives and died in March past year, but is due to return under new management, showing a collection of products at CES 2018 next week ahead of a full relaunch. The company is showing off three for now: a new wireless version of its popular RAT mouse, the RAT Air, along with a new Strike 4 keyboard and Freq 4 gaming headset. The new products are going to be demoed at CES 2018, so launch may not be too far off - at least for the familiar products from one of Mad Catz's previous lives. New Mad Catz peripherals will be on display at next week's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, which include new peripherals for PC users. Audio specs pan out to a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range, 32 ohm impedance and 110 dB sensitivity and Mad Catz has ditched the 3.5 mm audio jack in favor of USB connection. The new owners reportedly worked for Mad Catz prior to the company's bankruptcy filings and effectively closed down. The wire is linked to the pad rather than the mouse, so you get all of the benefits of a cord, being infinite use time without changing batteries or charging, along with all of the freedom of a wireless mouse. More information about all three products will be revealed at CES. Finally, Mad Catz is also coming out with the F.R.E.Q.4 headset.

Jimmy Iovine is reportedly leaving Apple Music this year
Jimmy Iovine has helped Apple Music reach 30 million paid users, nearly half way to Spotify's 70 million monthly paid subscribers. Apple did not comment on his sudden departure and Jimmy Iovine has been tight-lipped on the reports .

More details regarding these new peripherals will be unveiled by the company at CES 2018, which runs from January 9 through 12. The company was forced to lay off many of its employees that year and then shuttered altogether one year later.

Mad Catz is dead, long live Mad Catz. "Mad Catz has been a permanent fixture in gaming for nearly three decades and we firmly believe it's best days lie ahead", said Director of Sales and Operations Selena Chang.
