But before we officially set sail on March 20, Microsoft is giving us a chance to test the waters.

Rare has finally confirmed that the Closed Beta for Sea of Thieves is happening at the end of the month.

Sea of Thieves, the upcoming pirate game being worked on by Rare, will be entering its closed beta on January 24, 2018, according to a press release from the publisher. We won't be testing the full game during the Closed Beta phase: "we want to keep a good selection of things up our sleeves for players to discover at launch".

As mentioned, this is a Closed Beta, which means not everyone will be able to participate.

Playing of national anthem in cinema halls made optional
He continued to fight for the respect of the national anthem and collected more evidences that showed people disrespecting it. The bench had further stated that an Indian doesn't need to wear his patriotism on his sleeves.

If you'd like to take part in the Sea of Thieves Closed Beta you'll either need to have signed up for its Insider Programme before December 1st, 2017 (we reported on this some time ago) or have pre-ordered the game. If you pre-ordered a physical version of the game through a retailer, you will have to first redeem the code for the Black Dog cosmetic pack. Once you've done that, the beta will then likewise appear in your library the day before it starts.

Naturally, the closed beta won't provide access to the entire game, but it should sate the curiosity of anyone keen on this pirate cooperative adventure.

The Sea of Thieves Closed Beta will also not be covered by an NDA so anyone can stream, create videos, share clips, and much more - if they so wish.

We revealed March 20 as our launch date and made a star of an unsuspecting chicken with a swashbuckling trailer, kicked off pre-orders, revealed how you progress through the world of Sea of Thieves, and showed off our haunting Limited Edition controller.
