  • Serena Williams determined to pass 24 grand slam titles

SERENA Williams has opened up about the trauma of motherhood after "everything went bad" when she gave birth to her daughter a year ago.

In a story in the magazine's February issue and posted Wednesday on Vogue.com, Williams discusses developing several small blood clots in her lungs while in the hospital after Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. was born in September.

The American tennis star, who has won 23 grand slam titles, said that the difficulties began after Alexis Olympia's heart rate started to drop during the delivery on September 1 past year. "And then everything went bad". Then she got clots in her lungs and needed to inject herself with a blood thinner. She had stopped taking her daily anticoagulant regime because of her recent procedure. She has a history of blood clots. "I was like, a Doppler? I told you, I need a CT scan and a heparin drip", she recalled of the scary time. She alerted a nurse and was given an ultrasound scan. "Or I'll get angry about the crying, then sad about being angry, and then guilty, like, 'Why do I feel so sad when I have a lovely baby?' The emotions are insane", she explained.

Ms Williams said she then underwent numerous surgeries and was bedridden for six weeks. She was sent back to surgery where doctors found a large hematoma in her abdomen region.

Serena won the 2017 Australian Open after defeating her sister Venus in the final while pregnant with her first child.

Two New BlackBerry Smartphones Coming This Year
After having success with the BlackBerry Motion and Keyone in 2017, BlackBerry will release at least 2 new Android smartphones in 2018.

Williams also revealed that her friends in the world of tennis have been very supportive of her since she announced her pregnancy. With that being said, and even though I am disappointed about it, I've decided not to compete in the Australian Open this year.

According to Vogue, Alexis Ohanian, the happy father and co-founder of Reddit, cut the cord, and Olympia was laid on her mother's chest. "Consider for a moment that your body is one of the greatest things on this planet, and you're trapped in it". "No one talks about the low moments-the pressure you feel, the incredible letdown every time you hear the baby cry", she said.

Williams, a 23-time Grand Slam champion, told Vogue she is determined to win more major titles and surpass the record of 24 Slams held by Australia's Margaret Court. "Or I'll get angry about the crying, then sad about being angry, and then guilty, like, 'Why do I feel so sad when I have a lovely baby?' The emotions are insane".
