Lower trim levels of the 2019 Edge will introduce a bunch of new safety features to the lineup, including standard post-collision braking, which helps reduce potential secondary impacts after a crash, optional evasive steering assist, which provides steering support in an emergency maneuver and optional adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane centering.

Ford is expanding its high-performance ST lineup with the introduction of the 2019 Ford Edge ST.

Ford Motor said on Thursday it will make automatic emergency brakes standard on two key 2019 models, an effort by the No. 2 USA automaker to catch up with rivals in offering the new technology created to help vehicles avoid collisions. The vehicle will come powered by a 2.7 liter twin-turbo V6 engine that will be offering about 335hp, that is 20hp more compared to the Ford Edge Sport model. In the Edge ST it will make 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. That engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, standard all-wheel drive with selectable traction control.

Drivers also will be able to engage Sport Mode, which as in the Fusion Sport, stiffens the suspension, raises shift points, improves throttle response and increases the exhaust note. The ST is also visually distinguishable - there's a new mesh grille, new ide skirts and a modified rear bumper with dual exhaust outlets, along with sportier seats inside.

Ritz Paris robbery: Jewellery worth millions seized in armed heist
Speaking to Sky News , a witness said they heard gunfire and recalled seeing a man wearing a ski mask and carrying an axe. No one was injured in the raid on the opulent hotel, in the 1st arrondissement of Paris , police have confirmed.

Ford first expanded production of the Edge in Canada three years ago, announcing then that the vehicle would be exported for the first time to western Europe. We expect 0 to 60 miles per hour to come in the low-5-second range, and Crocker tells us that the Ford Performance division, which helped develop the vehicle, has stringent braking and handling requirements that must be met in order for something to wear the badge. The ST is predictably a bit edgier (sorry), with twenty-one inch wheels that can be wrapped with Pirelli P Zero summer tires, 265-section at all four corners and filled with optional performance brakes.

The Ford Edge has been updated for 2019. FordPass Connect is standard, including a Wi-Fi hotspot that gives internet access to up to 10 devices.

Inside, drivers will find an available wireless charging pad nestled in the forward media bin, and they can opt for an upgraded audio experience, HD Radio and a 12-speaker B&O PLAY Premium Audio System by HARMAN specially tuned for Edge.

That said, there are some notable tweaks to the appearance of the 2019 Ford Edge ST that signal it has a meaner disposition. A new eight-speed automatic gearbox takes care of putting the power down. Sync comes standard on the vehicles.
